Why not add gluten-free apple crisp to your menu this week! I would not be surprised if there was a poll out there stating that the most popular activity during Covid-19 was baking. And who is even eating normal meals anymore? Lunch?! What even is that?

Just in case you don't need special gluten-free recipes as our family does, there is no need to feel left out! You can do a straight substitute and use your regular non-gluten-free ingredients. Either way, the outcome will be delicious and this recipe will not disappoint your taste buds.
Gluten-Free Apple Crisp Recipe
I enjoy honey crisp apples, and this what we had on hand, so that is what I used for this recipe. Other apples that work well for baking are; granny smith, red delicious, pink lady and golden delicious.
For this recipe I used 10 peeled apples and sliced then into thin pieces, placing them into a mixing bowl.
To the sliced apples I added ¾ cup white sugar, 2 tablespoons of gluten-free flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix ingredients together with apples and add them to a pie dish.
For the gluten-free apple crisp topping, you will need 1 cup of gluten-free flour, 1 cup of gluten-free rolled oats and ½ cup of melted butter. Melt the butter in a separate bowl and add it to the flour and oats.

Pour your topping over the apples and place it into a preheated oven at 375F for 40 minutes. Serve gluten-free apple crisp hot and top it with vanilla ice cream! Enjoy!
