AS PART OF THE GIRLS ROOM MAKEOVER WE DECIDED TO UPDATE AN IKEA TARVA HACK ON THE GIRLS DRESSER.
About a year ago we bought the Tarva dresser from Ikea for inside the girls' closet. Our girls share a room and we were trying to clear up some floor space for them to play. Sticking a dresser in the closet was our best space-saving option.
Updating Ikea Tarva Hack
The nice thing about this dresser is that it is customizable. Now that I have a clear design for the girls' room I decided to go ahead and try this Ikea Tarva hack. Let's customize this dresser to better fit this space!
This was a very simple makeover, with no prep as the dresser is raw wood. I used Fusion Mineral Paint in Raw Silk, it took two coats. Because this dresser has no contact with water I did not put a top coat on it.
Ikea Tarva Hack into Modern Dresser
We used the original knobs for the Tarva Desser in our Basement Entryway Transformation for our accent wall.
I finished this dresser with some custom pink knobs that I found at HomeSense. The pink on the kobs compliments the pink on the opposite wall.
And inside we have organized all the girls' clothes with my most favourite organizers from Ikea. It excites the Maria Kondo in me!
IKEA Tarva Hack for the Win!
We love how the dresser blends into the wall of the closet and gives the closet a clean and seamless look, almost like it's built-in.
Be sure to send us your Ikea Tarva Hacks over on Instagram! We would love to see what you come up with!
